– God’s provision of forgiveness of sins and eternal life to all who believe in Jesus Christ

• Salvation

– To be kept from the penalty of sin and granted the gift of eternal life

– All people groups, tribes, and nations can be saved

– Justified: made righteous before God (one time event)

(on-going process until death)

– Glorified: free from the potential and presence of sin and its effects (permanent situation)

• Universalism teaches that everyone will be saved

• Pluralism teaches that there are many ways to eternal life

• Inclusivism teaches that Jesus will save everyone

3.Grace transforms us

• To leave sinful habits, patterns, and lifestyles

– “Deny ungodliness”

– “Worldly desires”

– These come from our flesh or sinful nature

• To live following God’s desires for us

– “Sensibly” – under self-control

– “Righteously” – how we treat others

– “Godly” – looking to God in every area

4.Grace leads us to look to our future

• “Blessed hope”

– Guarantee of future inheritance

– John 14:1-3

• “Appearing of the glory”

– The return of Jesus Christ

– 1 Thessalonians 4:13-17

– Revelation 19:11-19

5.Grace frees us

• Redeem

– Released through the payment of a ransom

– Jesus had set us free from the eternal consequences of sin

• “From every lawless deed”

– There is no sin which Jesus cannot forgive

• “Purify for Himself”

– The guilt of sin is removed

• “People for His own possession”

– His sacrifice ensures the future, eternal destiny of those who believe in Him

6.Grace enables us

• “Zealous for good deeds”

– Because I’ve been set free

– Because of the hope of eternal life

– Because I belong to Jesus
