Government Presentation Guidelines:

Each government agency represented at this conference has a mission that is related to promoting Conservation Awareness and Natural Resource Education in environmental, agricultural, conservation, animal, and human sciences.

A brief overview of the following points will help attendees to understand how they can match their own efforts to yours in order to build synergies that improve outcomes for learners and communities.

Your mission and priorities,

Connections between your work and CARE's conservation/restoration theme,

Opportunities for collaboration(s), and collaboration(s) you are actively seeking,

Funding opportunities (grants or contracts) available through your agency,

Descriptions of the purpose, priorities, and expectations from proposals or bids under those programs,

Point(s) of contact for general inquiries regarding said programs

Government agencies in attendance will be given a table for pamphlets and posters which can provide additional information about your agency, its outreach, and programs and opportunities for collaboration. This space, in combination with your presentation, are intended to help attendees understand how they can work with you to mutually advance shared priorities. We recommend bringing (or sending) relevant print materials to make your agency more accessible.

The audience being addressed will include Hispanic Serving post-secondary education institutions, PK-12 school districts, informal educators, and non-profit conservation and education organizations.

Foundation and Corporate Presentation Guidelines:

Foundation and Corporate partners have been invited to attend based on their relationship to conservation and natural resource education in the state of Texas. To help attendees build relationships with your foundation and match their efforts to your own, presentations should address the following points when applicable:

The mission and priorities of your organization

Relationships between your organization and environmental, agricultural, animal, natural resource conservation, and human sciences,

The nature of your organization's ongoing outreach projects,

A brief description of any curriculum materials that you may have developed or sponsored,

The nature of relationships you are seeking to build with educational institutions, informal educators, and non-government organizations,

Sponsorship programs that support community service projects, education service projects, or environmental, agricultural, or conservation and restoration research,

Expectations and priorities for those programs

Who is eligible to apply for support,

How to acquire information about applying for support, and

Outcomes that proposed projects should seek to produce under your program(s).

Each corporate and foundational partner in attendance will be given a table for pamphlets and posters. We recommend using this space to support awareness of your organization's mission, outreach projects, and collaborative and support opportunities. This space, in addition to your presentation, will help you to find potential collaborators who can help advance your mission.

Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) Presentation Guidelines:

Each attending HSI invited to attend this conference has work that relates to conservation and natural resource education. To facilitate partnerships and collaborations, we are particularly interested in hearing about existing and pending programs, projects, curricula, strategies, and applicable research at each institution. In addition, we are interested in hearing on what types of projects each institution might seek peer, industry, government, or K-12 collaboration from the representatives in attendance.

Your presentation should:

Identify the institution and faculty/staff being represented,

Provide a brief overview of the scope of the academic or service work of those in attendance (or represented),

Relate that work to the conference's conservation and restoration theme,

Describe current and planned (or desired) programs, projects, curricula, strategies, and research,

Outline any applicable environmental, agricultural, or conservation education outreach initiatives your institution supports

Outline potential areas for collaboration, conceptualized to any degree (tentative and/or loose conceptualizations are to be expected)

Each HSI will be limited to 15 minute presentations (approximately three to five slides if a slideshow presentation format is selected). Each presentation should convey a sense of direction that the institution is moving in. This will help potential collaborators find you, as well as help you to find collaborators.

Quick Tip: Use your student-led poster-sessions to promote existing programs and projects. Use your presentation to promote where you want to go with that work. The goal of this conference is to conceptualize partnerships that will help to pair institutional competencies, and create synergies that advance environmental, agricultural, animal, natural resource, and human science education at an accelerated rate. Where conceived notions for partnerships will be highly tentative in nature, and may depend on funding opportunities, the conception of these partnerships requires that attendees dare to dream.
