Reporting to the Director, Health and Wellness Programs, the Program Manager, Nursing and Health Science Programs will be responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of community and Iqaluit based Nursing and other Health Science Programs. The incumbent provides academic and administrative leadership in matters related to curriculum development, implementation and evaluation, teaching and faculty development, student recruitment and advisement. The incumbent is responsible to the Director, School of Nursing at Dalhousie University for academic matters concerning the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program. The incumbent is responsible for realizing the College? commitment to the Department of Health to graduate more beneficiaries and Nunavummiut with a nursing degree, or other health diplomas and certificates.

The Program Manager, Nursing and Health Science Programs manages is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of the Bachelor of Science in Arctic Nursing program, the Practical Nurse program and the Pre-Nursing program. The incumbent will write proposals plans, programs, prepares and manages budgets and manages resources and nine full-time staff, comprising of 8 faculty and the program Secretary.

A Master? degree in Nursing is required. A Ph.D is preferred. Three years of post-secondary teaching experience and program development in a Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Nursing program is required. Experience with curriculum development and program evaluation is required. Five years of nursing experience in the clinical/practice areas is required to ensure the delivery of quality programs, as per Canadian nursing standards, and an appropriate level of staff support. Applicants must have a minimum of two years experience with supervising and developing staff. Northern or cross cultural nursing experience is preferred. Applicants must be registered with the Registered Nurses Association of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut prior to taking the position or relocating to Nunavut. Applicants must also have excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

This position is included in the Nunavut Employees Union and has a starting salary of $105,534.00 to $119,789 per annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $15,016.00 per annum.
