Second Sunday of Lent

February 24th & 25th, 2018

Good evening (Good morning), Welcome!

Today, we are celebrating the Second Sunday of Lent.

Today’s Mass Intention is for:

4:30pm Missa Pro Populo

7:30am Rosalio Remo (+)

09:00am Carmelita Andrews✝

Jackson & Dena McCarroll✝

Paul Seishas✝

11:00amEileen Mellow ✝

Luis Inabangan✝

Carlo Asuncion ✝

Lent is a particularly appropriate time to listen to Jesus. The faith of Abraham is tested in a most extreme way in the first reading today. So too will the faith of the disciples be tested during the time leading up to Jesus’ death and resurrection. We know what awaits us at the end of Lent, but the disciples did not and their faith wavered. But Paul tells us that because of Christ’s death and resurrection, we can easily have faith in our salvation. After all, if God was willing to allow Jesus to die for us, “how will he not also give us everything else along with him?”

Please stand... and prepare to receive our Lord in Word and Sacrament...

Please place Parish Petition Book underneath the ambo, and the cantor/music ministers assume responsibility for beginning the “gathering song.”
