EAGLE BOARD OF REVIEW REQUIREMENTS

You are preparing for an interview to attain the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America. The Eagle Board expects you to approach this meeting in a thorough and professional manner which demonstrates your readiness and qualifications for the Eagle rank. The following will assist you in your preparation.

The Eagle Board will be held on a Wednesday at St. Matthews Church, 15653 E. Newton St., Hacienda Heights. Make sure that you schedule the board at least 30 days prior to your 18th birthday and deliver your forms and presentation book to the Eagle Board Chairman at least one week prior for verification. You, your parents and your Scoutmaster will be interviewed. You should dress in a formal “Class A” uniform from merit badge sash to shoes. Plan on one hour to complete the process. Your presentation folder should include the following:

  1. Table of Contents.
  2. One Check list – Eagle Scout Award.

  3. One Eagle Scout Rank Application.
    with written essay to fulfill Requirement #6 –Ambitions and Life Purpose
  4. One Advancement Report
    pre-filled with your name and troop information
  5. One Individual Advancement History Report
    from Troop Records
  6. Eagle Resume (Participation Report)

  7. Complete Eagle Project write-up
  8. All earned blue merit badge cards, signed and dated by a BSA accredited counselor.
  9. (optional) Green/White rank advancement cards
  10. (if BOR after 18th birthday) Letter explaining delay
  11. Any scouting awards
  12. Six Letters of recommendation.

All forms must be filled out completely with no abbreviations and the city and ZIP code included in all addresses. Check that the proper signatures and dates are affixed where indicated.

The presentation folder should include a complete representation of the Eagle Project with pictures taken before, during, and after completion. All questions regarding the project must be answered. Construct the folder in a logical sequence which portrays yourself in the best manner possible.
