Goal Summary Reports

The goal summary report gives the school and teacher information about student achievement on specific goals of the Standard Course of Study for each EOG. The goal summary report gives the following data:

  • Mean Scale Score – the overall average of the developmental scale score for this group of students.
  • Number of students tested
  • Percent correct for each goal/category – shows the percentage of questions answered correctly by this group of students. For example, the percent correct for Goal 1 is 65.4%. This means that this group of students correctly answered 65.4% of the questions related to Goal 1. If there is no data for the goal or objective, not all forms were represented in the group to generate the minimum number of questions needed to report the percent correct. This occurs when the number in the group tested is small.
  • Percent Proficient – indicates the percentage of this group of students that were proficient.

Types of Goal Summary Reports given:

  • Goal Summary Discrepancy Reports – compares various subgroups within the school to the county.
  • Goal Summary by subgroups at each grade level
  • Goal Summary by teacher codes

Please keep in mind the following when looking at the data:

  • Small numbers of students may not have data for all areas depending on the forms of the test given in the group.
  • When looking at teacher code goal summary reports, consider the types of students in that teacher’s class (example – teacher teaching AIG students vs. teacher teaching EC students)
  • A goal summary report providesonly a general picture of the achievement for the group of students due to the varying difficulty of questions across objectives.
