Learning Goals and Strategies

Please think about and write 3 learning SMART goals for Spanish class this quarter – not goals for a grade. Write 2 different strategies for each goal, for a total of 6 (or more). You may write more than 2. Do not use a strategy more than once.

Goals are the what – What do you want to achieve? Strategies are the how – How will you accomplish these goals? Strategies may be a combination of things to do in class and things to do outside of class. Your goals will go into the reflection section of your binder.

SMART goals help improve achievement and success. A SMART goal is:

Specific/Strategic This should be focused on specific skills and learning targets. Use action words (organize, improve, demonstrate, create...)

•Measurable Choose a goal with measurable progress so you can see change occur.

•Attainable Set a goal that will challenge you but yet be realistic enough to complete in ONE quarter.

Results­oriented Will this goal help improve your achievement in Spanish class?

•Time­bound The goal should achievable by the end of the quarter. Examples:

Is not specific, measurable, or time­bound, nor does it identify why the improvement is needed or how it will be accomplished.
