English Language and Composition Final Exam: The Electronic Portfolio

Electronic portfolios are a way to showcase your work and your interests. Your e-portfolio should be a reflective piece that incorporates your best writing and ideas, and it should be a personal piece that gives the viewer some insight regarding who you are and what you’re about.

The Process: Use webs.com or weebly.comor some other free website generator to create your own website.

The Content: The items you choose to include in your e-portfolio are calledartifacts.

Mandatory (you must include the following artifacts)

Choices (choose a minimum of TWO of the followingto include)

Information and photos about your favorite musician/band, actor/film, sports team, TV show, book (or some other “favorite” that you have)

A list of your favorite online links/websites with commentary

Photographswith commentary (these can be personal photos, famous photos or photos from an event that you choose to upload and comment on)

Artwork (your own or by another artist) with commentary

Original fictionor essays (Are you a poet or a songwriter? Strut your stuff here!)

Photos, journals, mementos, maps, or other artifacts from your travels or from your dream vacations (Where have you been? Or where would you like to go? The itinerary of your dreams?)

Assignments from other courses of which you are proud

Your “Bucket List” (at least 25 items)

Goals (short term and long term) – Academic? Career-related? Fitness and nutrition? Social? Family? Other? What will help you reach them? What might get in your way?

A “Thank You Note” to people who have helped/affected you in some way

Peer Edit Form: You must have at least one student peer edit your e-portfolio and you must peer edit the e-portfolio of at least one student.

The only print materials you will turn in will be evidence of these peer edits.
