Nanny/Carer required in SW9 areafor 10-year old girl who is on the autistic spectrum. Applicants will support the young girl, with reading, school pickups, bathing and play. Alongside these activities you will be expected to carry out some light domestic duties such as laundry and cleaning up after her.
Hours:
- Term time – Monday to Sunday 37 hours per week @ £9.75 per hour
- School holidays – Monday to Sunday 46 hours per week @ £9.75 per hour

Person Specification and Job Description

General Information:
- The job of the Carer is to assist the disabled person to meet their personal, social and domestic needs and any other day-to-day requirements or activities.
- Through caring the disabled person is able to lead an individual, independent and active life, in his or her own home or within the community.
- The Carer should always ask what the disabled person’s needs are and listen and act upon their, or parent’s, requests and directions.
- If employed you will be asked to provide two suitable references.
Person Specification
Carers should be:
- Experienced in supporting a disabled person with administration work.
- Willing to carry out light housework.
- Flexible and able to work weekends and some sleepovers.
- Reliable and trustworthy.
- Able to accept responsibility.
- Able to work independently and show initiative as required.
- Willing to learn the job well.
- Diligent and conscientious.
- Committed to equal opportunities in their attitudes and the way they carry out their work.
- Able to handle the physical tasks of lifting, handling, pushing and bending, unless otherwise stated. The Carer does not need to be physically strong to do certain tasks well, but it does help, together with good general health.
Carer Responsibilities
- Arrive at the agreed time ready to work.
- Give notice if you are going to be more than ten minutes late.
- Respect the privacy of the person you are working for and maintain a professional approach at all times, being careful to treat your working relationships as confidential, including the assistance provided.
- Understand and be mindful of the disabled persons right to dignity, respect and independence.
- Communicate and discuss any problems that arise as soon as possible.
- Respect your employer’s possessions and equipment and only use the telephone, television, radio, fridge etc with appropriate consent.
Job Description
We are seeking a carer/nanny to support and care for a 10-year-old disabled girl in SW9 area. The little girl is on the autistic spectrum and would benefit from having a carer/nanny with some experience of working with autistic children.
The tasks involve in the job would be, some:
- Personal care
- Bathing, and
- Dressing
In addition to this other tasks include supporting the child with:
- Reading
- Playing
- School pickups
- Laundry, and
- Some housework
The job is over seven days per week and the hours are as follows:
- Term time 37 hours per week, and
- School holidays 46 hours per week at £9.75 per hour
The successful candidate would be expected to undergo a DBS check (this is be paid for by Lambeth Social Services).

Learning the task involved
The disabled person, or their guardians,are the people best qualified to know what their needs are and how they are best met. For the most part therefore, areas of assistance can be learned and familiarised through the assistant and the disabled person working together. Where required, the employer will provide practical training and guidance.
