YACHT MAINTENANCE AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:

Oct 2005 – Present: BUZZARDS BAY YACHT SERVICES, INC. Co-founder and Principle of yacht service company. Services provided include yacht management, maintenance, repairs, refits, restorations, and deliveries. Recent projects include rebuild and ongoing maintenance program of 1929 52’ wooden S&S yawl, Little Harbor 38 redecking, minor refit and ongoing maintenance program, Formosa 41 redecking, cabinhouse repair, and bulkhead replacement, 72’ wooden yawl general maintenance, 38’ Ted Hood general maintenance

Nov 2000 – Sept 2005: Maintained yachts in owner’s absence in various locations while sailing around the world. Operated, monitored, and maintained onboard systems. Yachts ranged from 34’ yachts with basic systems to 60’ yachts with 12 volt, 110 volt and 220 volts systems, generators, air conditioners, water makers, and both AC and DC refrigerators.

Nov 1999 – Nov 2000: Prepared the 25 year old 41 sailboat “HORAI” to sail around the world. Projects included a new deck, new wiring both AC and DC, installation of various new systems including refrigeration, solar and wind generators, water maker, replaced all standing rigging, rebuild windlass, interior carpentry and headliner replacement.

July 1995 – Sept 2000: FIDELITY INVESTEMENTS. Project Manager/Account Manager. Maintained relationship between Fidelity Investments (the software provider) and the trust departments at several large U.S. banks. Managed and coordinated all tasks for the implementation of the banks trust accounting system data conversion projects. Managed day to day activities with client. Planned and coordinated long term system needs of client.

Jan 1987 – July 1995: FLEET BANK Assistant Vice President. Managed trust operations department of 50 people. Responsible for all staffing, budgeting and operation activities necessary to support the trust department.

June 1985 – August 1986: GIPPER ENTERPRISES. Commercial Fisherman. Worked as crew on scallop dragger out of Harwichport, MA.

SAILING EXPERIENCE:

2000 – 2005: Completed west about Circumnavigation aboard 41’ s/v “HORAI” as owner/master. Sailed from New England in November of 2000 and completed a tradewind circumnavigation via the Panama Canal, South Pacific, New Zealand, Australia, Southeast Asia, Red Sea, Suez Canal and the Mediterranean. Visited 51 Countries and sailed over 37,000 miles while maintaining a 30 year old boat complete with full compliment of cruising gear.

1999 AND PRIOR: A lifelong sailor and live aboard since 1991. Sailed Atlantic waters extensively from Maine to the Cheasapeake Bay, Bermuda and Caribbean on various boats as owner/master or crew since childhood.

2005 - Shipyard Cup and Opera House Cup aboard W-76 “WILD HORSES”; Swan North American Regatta aboard Swan 48, “AFFINITY”; Eggemoggin Reach Regatta and Newport Classics aboard 45 S&S, “SIREN”; St. Maarten Classic, Antigua Classic, Heineken Regatta aboard 50’ Alden Schooner, “CHARM III”.

2003 - Darwin, Australia to Kupang, West Timor Race aboard Ray Richards 41, “HORAI”; Mooloolaba, Australia summer series aboard Van De Standt 40, “INSATIABLE” and 30’ sport boat “SOUNDWAVE”.

2002 - Port Villa, Vanuatu series aboard Serendipity 43, “WINGS”

2001 - Vava’u, Tonga winter series aboard Oyster 53, “CARELBI”; Lidgard 34, “KON TIKI”; and Wylie 31, “VELELLA”
