1. Call to order at 7:00 p.m.

a. Opening prayer: Read by Mr. Jean

b. Attendance: Mrs. Gayle Walton, Mrs. Heather Vedress, Mrs. Darla Geddes,

Mrs. Lynn Haunholter, Mrs. Rebecca Joe

2- Approval of agenda: Mrs. Gayle Walton approved the agenda.

3- Approval of minutes: Mrs. Lynn Haunholter approved the minutes.

4- Additions to the agenda:

13.1 Tim Hortons treat to Staff members;

13.2 Online courses and Awards;

13.3 Track meet.

5- Update on construction:

Mr. Jean shares the following information:

-Room 105 and 109 ( science labs )have been emptied and are not available for the rest of the school year;

-Sciences courses will be offered in other classrooms for 7 days;

-New science labs ready on Tuesday, May 23rd;

-Demolition of main entrance;

-Partition wall build in the courtyard;

-Keeping air scrubbers ( filters ) working during night and day.

-Air purifiers added in some classrooms;

-Improvement of Health issues with staff and students. No more rash and breathing problems ( asthma ). Situation monitor continually with updates done to Central office,

site supervisor and Alberta Health services.

-Courtyard floor and classrooms washed everyday;

-Tables in courtyard washed two times a day;

-Hallways cleaned two times a day;

-Weekly meeting with site supervisor.

-Fire alarm: Tuesday, May 9th during ELA PAT Exam Part A.

6- Talent show

-Was planned for the afternoon of May 5th;

-Not enough interested students;

-Not enough interested staff or too many activities at the same time;

-Will have to rethink for next year to make this event a success.

7- Professional collaboration day / school based faith day, Friday, May 12th

-In the morning the staff members will have a 90-minute presentation by Ever Active Schools about Social Emotional Learning and Mental Wellness;

-Help in the community for the afternoon ( different groups and organizations ).

8- Division Faith Day - Multiplex Grimshaw

HFCRD is pleased to welcome Roy Petitfils as the keynote speaker for the 2017 Division Faith. Roy Petitfils is an internationally-recognized expert in understanding and raising teenagers. He uses humour, passion, clinical and life experience to help adults connect with teens and teens to know, understand and love themselves.

The theme for the day is “Blessed, Broken and Shared – Seeing ourselves, our lives and our ministry through a Eucharistic Lens,” which challenges staff to see God, themselves, their colleagues and students as being “Blessed” (gifted, unique), “Broken” (wounded, sinful), and “Shared” (a hunger for intimacy through relationships and service). The day aims to give staff opportunities to grow in their faith and give them the tools to access more meaning and purpose from Mass, their personal life and their vocation.

Tours of the new Holy Family School will be available at 11:45am and 3:00pm.

9- Band Tour

-May 14 to May 18;

-Leaving after lunch on Sunday, May 14th;

-All the band students are going;

-Students will be absent from school for three days.

10- Party Program

MISSION STATEMENT
TO PROMOTE INJURY PREVENTION THROUGH VIVID CLINICAL REALITY,
ENABLING YOUTH TO RECOGNIZE RISK, MAKE INFORMED CHOICES,
AND IDENTIFY POTENTIAL CONSEQUENCES ABOUT ACTIVITIES AND BEHAVIOURS.

The P.A.R.T.Y. (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth) Program is a one-day injury awareness and prevention program for youth age 15 and older. Developed in 1986 at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, this program is a vital component of the growing community effort to reduce death and injury in alcohol, drug and risk-related crashes and incidents.

-In St.Isidore;

-Party program for all grade 9;

-Mrs. McSween, all day plus other supervisors;

-Leaving at 9 a.m. and returning at 3:15 p.m;

11- Grade 12 Faith day at Catholic Center

12- Grad information

-Plan for the stage made;

-Tickets sent;

-Help of the Maintenance crew from Central Office;

-Grad requirements;

-Decoration plan ( Wednesday evening, Thursday, Friday a.m. );

Mr. Jean asked the parents present about their thoughts regarding grad requirements. The majority of the parents said they would let the students participate at the Grad Ceremony even if they do not have the requirements. The Grad Ceremony recognize the end of a life stage to another stage of the student’s life.

13- Additions to the agenda

13.1- Tim Hortons - Thank you to Mrs. Rebecca Joe and Mrs. Carmen Gauvreau( May 5th ).

13.2- ADLC are not and cannot be because we have no control over weather the grade

includes a final exam or not and when the students are done the course. Cyberhigh

could possibly be included but we would have to figure how it can be calculated for each

student.

13.3- Track meet: Mr. Jean asked the parents if they had any concerns or question regarding this

event and they said they were satisfy with the activity.

14- Round table

-Mrs. Rebecca Joe asked Mr. Jean if an adjustment could be made to the gymnasium

changerooms. People standing in the gymnasium can see inside the changerooms when

someone open the door to enter the changerooms. It could be an appropriate time to

make this change with the actual modernization project. Mr. Jean indicated he will pass

this information to Mr. Nigel McCarthy, Assistant Superintendent and see if it can be

Done.

-Mrs. Lynn Haunholter asked Mr. Jean if the exam schedule was ready for the month of June. Mr. Jean indicated that the PAT and Diploma exams schedule was posted on the school website. The schedule for the other classes will be posted soon.

-May 16th: Grade 12 Faith day at Catholic Center;

-May 18th: Divisional track meet at Glenmary school;

-May 24th: Sweat ceremony;

-May 24th: Grade 6 Shadow day;

-May 26th: Track Zones (Jr. and Sr. high) in Sexsmith;

-May 26th – 7:00 pm – Graduation Mass-Grimshaw Multiplex;

-May 27th: Grand ceremony Multiplex Grimshaw, 2 p.m.;

-May 30th: Principals meeting at Central Office;

-May 30th: Grade 7 orientation night at 7 p.m. in the theater;

-June 2nd: Catholic Leadership Academy - Central Office;

-June 6th: Year End School Mass -10:00 am - gym;

-June 8th: Spring Concert - Theatre 7 p.m.;

-June 14th: Last day of regular classes for S.H. students;

-June 15th: ELA 30-1/30-2 Part A Diploma Exam 9 to 12 p.m.:

-June 16th: Social Studies 30-1 Part A Diploma Exam 9 to 12 p.m.;

-June 19th: French Language Arts 30-1 Part A Diploma Exam 9 to 12 p.m.;

-June 20th: French Language Arts 30-1 Part B 9 to 12 p.m.;

-June 21st: Last day of regular classes for J.H. students.
