GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Technology manages the use of technology throughout the district including network administration, database management, system documentation, hardware and software management, maintaining the District website, and assuring that technology is integrated with the instructional program. This position also insures appropriate training for District employees.

They have courage and take purposeful action. They are committed to aligning their actions to serve the greater good. They recognize the dignity and worth of all human beings.

2.Vision: To inspire others to an ideal future, leaders:

Paint a big picture of the ideal for their area of the organization that others can see and understand. This personal vision must become a shared vision among stakeholders in order to be effective in moving the organization forward. They are committed to the District 41 vision and strategic initiatives. Vision is not a collection of incremental pieces, but a series of overarching goals that provides a coherent road map for the future and leaders have the courage to fact short-term difficulties in pursuit of long-term goals. The Long Rang Plan provides the vision and goals for our future focus.

3.Trust: To build trust, leaders:

Must have emotionally healthy relationships that are truthful and open. Trust is established through caring relationships that establish the climate for open, frank discussion. Leaders manage their egos and are emotionally tough, responding with resilience to difficult situations. TASK AREAS:

  1. Implements the District’s State Technology Plan.
  2. Assists professional staff in integrating the use of computers and related technologies into the curriculum.
  3. Oversees the District’s student database.
  4. Provides district-wide technical support of computer systems, networks, and related equipment.
  5. Assists in reviewing computer hardware and software needs for the District’s instructional and administrative programs.
  6. Develops and provides staff development for information systems.
  7. Develops data collections and reporting methods as required by the administration.
  8. Reviews hardware and software programs, troubleshoots, and implements solutions.
  9. Supervises technology staff for all networked educational and administrative systems.
  10. Provides guidance and recommendations in the purchase of technology equipment and programs.
  11. Develops and maintains a budget for the Office of the Director of Technology
  12. Implements and supervises programs allowing for interaction between personnel and business office functions related to personnel functions.
  13. Maintains an inventory of technology hardware and software.
  14. Maintains and enhances the District’s website.
  15. Documents and maintains a procedural manual of administrative procedures applied to software.
  16. Participates in meetings with internal and external committees and teams concerning technology.
  17. Seeks out and submits applications for available grant funds related to technology.
  18. Maintains and periodically reviews the effectiveness of maintenance databases with appropriate job functions.
  19. Coordinates with other administrators in any overlapping areas.
  20. Supervises related personnel.
  21. Supervises the management of data collection for contract negotiations.
  22. Assumes other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALING
  • Bachelors’ Degree
  • Microsoft Certification
  • Master’s Degree in technology-related field preferred.
