RESOLUTION NO. 1766

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING INTERIM DESIGN GUIDELINES FOR DOWNTOWN OVERLAND PARK, KANSAS.

WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Review Board is responsible for providing and promoting planned development and architectural harmony in Downtown Overland Park.

WHEREAS, the Downtown Development Review Board is an advisory body to the Planning Commission and Governing Body on zoning matters involving the downtown.

WHEREAS, the PB‑1 and PB‑2 district identify that "Design Criteria as developed and adopted by the Downtown Coordinating Committee should serve as guidelines for orderly public and private development redevelopment of Downtown Overland Park."

WHEREAS, the business community and the Overland Park 2000 Foundation have actively participated in creating the guidelines.

WHEREAS, the Governing Body, Planning Commission, and Downtown Development Review Board recognize the need for clarifying what form development should follow.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE GOVERNING BODY, PLANNING COMMISSION AND DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT REVIEW BOARD, that:

The Governing Body, Planning Commission and Downtown Development Review Board on their own behalf and on behalf of all citizens of the City of Overland Park, Kansas, do hereby adopt the Interim Design Guidelines, duly incorporated by reference and on file in the office of the City Clerk as an appropriate design guide for the review and action on development or redevelopment proposals within Downtown Overland Park.
