VIII.  SELF ADVOCACY:

We had a lengthy discussion regarding the safety rules. One which garnered much attention related to “no gift-giving without knowledge of your Coordinator.” We often wish to share with our friends and it was questioned why we discourage it. The Arnold Center does not recommend this practice as many employees have health restrictions. Additionally, it’s very easy for some individuals to become taken advantage of by others. To help prevent this, we encourage all participants to purchase what they need without asking their co-workers for food and/or money.
