Oliver’s Smash and Grab

The B team continued their 100% record with a 1-0 victory away against Hilltop B. The goal came late in the game when a draw seemed the likely outcome; it resulted from a defensive error, capitalised upon by Oliver who smashed the ball into the net. St Margaret’s applied a lot of pressure in waves of attack but were denied by the crossbar, goalkeeper and some wayward shooting. Hilltop had their chances too, Josh proving to be an effective barrier in front of our goal and some great tackling by Mason and Adeli stopping many attacks early. Can the team keep up their perfect record?

B Team: Joshua Austin, Oliver Brazier, Mason Jordan-Fryers, Leon Martin-Blowe, Adeli Mboya,

Taylor Tricks Hilltop!

Taylor grabbed the headlines with a hat-trick and match winning performance for our C team in a 3-0 victory against Hilltop C. A fantastic effort began from the kick-off; Taylor, Tyler, Jawad and Izsyk linking well in attack, constantly troubling the opposition defence; Freddie, Robert and Daryan doing well to keep the ballaway from our goal, but Reece provinghis worthas goalkeeper bymaking important saves when needed. A great team performance in the first C team game – let’s hope for more fixtures and victories in the near future.

Year 6Quicksticks Hockey on Wednesday 6th February 2013

A Clear Win!

Natasha Clear kept her nerve to score the decisive penalty to crown the A team as Crawley Champions in the local round of the School Games Quicksticks Hockey at Thomas Bennett. It was a true team performance throughout the competition that sealed the title; winning each of the four games they played to take them through to the final. The team will now travel to Lancing College on 6th March to represent Crawley in the Sussex School Games Finals.

We also had a B team in action who performed brilliantly, winning two games and drawing another. Unfortunately an early lossdenied them the chance to progress further in the tournament but their record ensured a respectable 8th place finish.

A Team: Natasha Clear, Amelia Cooper, Freddie Simpson, Joshua Smithson, Morrell Sotomi
