Firstly, you need to create a song playlist. You will need to select (or create) ten song titles that sum up important aspects of your life. You will be asked to present your finished playlist in a creative way, explaining the choices you have made and what these show about you.

Really this is an autobiography with a twist!

This piece will be an individual extended contribution and will require you to describe parts of your life.

STEP 1: Make a list of ten important aspects of your life. You may like to think about the following things:

·  friends / family

·  interests / hobbies

·  major events: favourite holidays, important memories, etc.

·  ambitions / the future

STEP 2: Take the ten points you have selected and convert them into short song titles which you think reflect that event/person. You can use song titles that already exist or make up your own.

STEP 3: Design a playlist cover which you think reflects your personality and life. Think carefully about the colours, images, fonts and layout that you choose. Your playlist cover should have a name and title and your song playlist should appear on the back.

STEP 4: You should be prepared to present your design - and your reasons for it - to the class/teacher (or arrange to do it after school). To do this, you will need to describe why the aspects of your life that you have chosen are important to you. Pick out one or two lines from the lyrics that mean something to you and discuss/explain why.

STEP 5: You could script your talk or use cue cards with bullet points to remind you of what to say. Remember, your presentation will only be about five minutes long, so time yourself as you practise. You may wish to choose part of a song to play before or after your talk which captures/mirrors an aspect of your life.
