OBJECTIVE

Translate all types of texts, from English into Portuguese and vice-versa, i.e. Portuguese into English.

QUALIFICATIONS

Native speaker of Portuguese and also very much an assimilated American English speaker, having grown-up and lived in the United States for about 25 years. (Naturalized U.S. citizen).

My experience of approx. 17 years working in the export business, dealing with both languages (Portuguese and English) on a daily basis in the business world – communicating via telephone, e-mail, fax and many times in person - sometimes acting as an interpreter for Brazilian engineers at seminars, trade shows, manufacturer’s visits, etc. has given me a solid background for translation work.

At these 2 companies, my duties were essentially the same, purchase and import spare parts from the U.S. thru my vendor’s contacts and also procurement of U.S. vendors that would be interested in importing our services, equipment manufactured in Brazil for specific Broadcast and Television market,again, communication in English with U.S. vendors and translating into Portuguese and vice-versa to engineers and executives in Brazil. Job also entailed translation of several Technical Manuals from Portuguese into English and a few English into Portuguese.
