hold Qualified Teacher Status A
have knowledge, understanding and experience of working with children with SLD– a qualification in this would be desirable A / I
have up-to-date knowledge of the EYFS curriculum A / I
have knowledge and understanding of the development and
learning of young children A / I
have an awareness of current thinking about the needs and
care of young children, especially those with SEN A / I
be motivated to develop and maintain high quality provision and practice A / I
be enthusiastic, innovative, energetic and able to motivate
others A / I
be flexible, practical and willing to ‘get your hands dirty’ I
be creative in developing a stimulating and fun learning
environment for pupils with SLD and autism A / I
have experience of managing other staff A / I

have knowledge of the implementation of Safeguarding and

Physical Demands
Working with the children at Willow Treeis physically challenging. It will involve changing pupils who have wet or soiled nappies. It may involve lifting and handling of training equipment, play equipment and other resources. You need to be able to be involved in practical activities and physical care of young children with SLD.
