THATTIME OF THE YEAR AGAIN!
I would like to wish you all a very blessed andhappy Christmas, safe and refreshing holidays and a bright and prosperous New Year.
I am still composing the Freitag Family Fanfare which is our annual Christmas family newsletter and will put it on my personal website when it is finished.

BRAINY DAYS DISPLAY IN THE OFFICE
Brainy Days have placed a display of challenging educational games in the Gifted Resources Office. Packs are open so that people can inspect them and have a play. Orders are then placed directly with Brainy Days by phone or via their website http://www.brainydays.com.au/Be sure to mention that you have been referred by Gifted Resources and we will receive a percentage.

INFO PACK SUPERSIZING
During the next two weeks I will be working on compiling the 2007 Gifted Resources Info Pack. This time I will be using Wallets instead of Presentation Folders as the amount of material to be included has increased. If you would like your material onservices related to giftedness included in the Info Pack please send 50 -100 copies of your most current brochures, flyers, price lists, business cards, etc. to the Gifted Resources office address asap. There is no charge for inclusion of your details in our information pack.

G.A.T.E.WAYS 'FESTIVALS OF WORKSHOPS'
Once again, in December, G.A.T.E.WAYS will be running two end-of-year festival extravaganzas! The Prep Festival will be on Thursday December 7th and Friday December 8th at Sacre Coeur, Burke Road Glen Iris. The Grades 1 - 6 Festival will be held at Korowa Anglican Girls' School , Ranfurlie Avenue, Glen Iris on Monday December 11th and Tuesday 12th. Both festivals will offer a range of fun and challengingworkshops across awide range of curriculum areas. Children may enrol for one or both days. The cost per day is $62.70. Programdetails will be available on www.gateways.edu.au by the end of the school holidays and staggered bookings open in mid-October. REGISTRATION FOR HOME EDUCATION IN VICTORIA
The Education department has issued a message regarding a process for registration for home education. These are interim arrangements only. Registration is not required by law until the new Education Act takes effect (which we expect to be at the start of the 2007 school year).Registration at this stage is voluntary. Once the new Education Act takes effect, registration will become compulsory.
The full department message is posted on the HEN website http://www.home-ed.vic.edu.au/category/proposed-changes-to-legislation/ and we expect registration forms to be available on the DET website shortly.
2007 NATIONAL HOME EDUCATION CONFERENCE
Australia's biggest ever homeschooling conference!International speakers John Taylor Gatto and Alan Thomas visit Australia to share their views on school education and homeschooling alternatives. Australian speakers include Eleanor Sparks, Terry Harding, Beverley Paine, Craig Henderson and many more.
The conference will be run for 2½ days and be staged in 11 locations all over Australia. Keynote presentations, workshops, trade fair exhibitions, formal and informal networking opportunities and kids activities will be at each conference.
