GETTING THE BEST OUT OF YOUR REUNION

Below is a snapshot of the services provided by the Development & Alumni Relations Office for your Reunion.

  1. Extracting and researching contact details of former pupils and liaising with class ambassadors to correct/update data manually. We need to allow for a number of months in advance to locate lost alumni and allow people to ‘save the date’, particularly if they are coming from overseas.
  2. Visiting the venue and negotiating a deal
  3. Paying a venue deposit
  4. Arranging a suitable date and location within the College via the Calendar Committee
  5. Setting a ticket price
  6. Setting up the online booking link on the College web site
  7. Mailing / e-mailing invitees – save the date letters/emails and/or invitation letters/emails
  8. Setting up a private Facebook group and posting messages
  9. Advising current & former members of staff who wish to attend
  10. Ensuring that the following are appraised of the event: Janitorial staff, Catering, Head of S6 & Captains (for a tour), and Fr Banyard

And in return, what we need from you to help make the Reunion as well-attended and successful as possible:

  1. Encouraging one or two other class-mates to become a Reunion Ambassador for your Reunion to reach as many of your class-mates as possible
  2. Looking at the contact data for former pupils and advising us of Inaccuracies of names or class years
  3. Advising where people are now and either passing on their details to the College or contacting them via your networks to ask them to contact the Development & Alumni Relations Office.
  4. Choosing menus, agreeing ticket price, visiting the venue
  5. Agreement on when save the date letters or invitation letters go out & input of content
  6. Joining the private Class Facebook group (if relevant for your year-group) and adding your class-mates, content - such as messages, photographs, and generally encouraging your class-mates to attend. (This is where you will need several ambassadors to motivate people)
  7. Registering & buying your ticket first!

As the College turns its emphasis to the original vision of helping those bright pupils from families who could never afford an independent education, we have started to promote a philanthropic message at Reunions of giving back to the College through The Opportunity Fund for bursaries. We would be happy to discuss with you the most appropriate approach for your year-group.
