German Rock Act “Pur” Hits The Road With Apogee… Again

Karben, Germany – Pur, one of Germany’s most popular rock bands, chose Apogee speakers and amplifiers for their third consecutive tour. Pur has sold out each of their 39 dates, including two nights at the Kölnarena, Germany’s largest indoor arena.

Wolfgang “Schabbach” Neumann, owner of rental company SIRIUS-Schalltechnik Service GmbH, has utilized Apogee as his system of choice since 1990. For this tour, SIRIUS has deployed thirty-two 3X3 concert loudspeakers, twenty-four C-3 concert loudspeakers, eight AE-15 subwoofers, sixteen AE-11 subwoofers, sixteen AE-5s for fill, and in some larger venues, an additional twenty-four 3x3s. Neumann states, “We selected Apogee because our customer, Pur, insisted upon the hi-fi sound of Apogee products after first experiencing them during a 71- date tour in 1998. As an additional benefit, the Apogee MARS Rigging System streamlines flying efficiency, helping us to get the rig in and out in record time.”

Having had great success on this tour, Neumann says, “The next tour will take place from June through August of 2001 with outdoor shows, again using Apogee to guarantee great coverage and overall hi-fi sound in large soccer stadiums.”
