The Big Picture, Selected Works of Photographer Cory Stickley
Tremont Hall Gallery, 80 Simcoe St, Collingwood
Images created in Big Cameras with Big Film - Crafted from black and white film in a traditional wet darkroom, a combination of local and travel scenes, these images reflect Cory Stickley’s lifelong love of Ontario landscapes and ancient architecture. One of only a handful of women photographers working with large format cameras, Cory values the clarity and subtleties of large film enough to deal with the challenges of traditional photography. View cameras (think Ansel Adams) are entirely manual; therefore, photographing becomes a meditative process, slow and deliberate.
