The Ebony Showcase Theatre was founded in 1950 by Nick and Edna Stewart. Nick Stewart played the part of Lightnin' on the Amos 'n' Andy TV show and was the voice of Disney's Brer Bear in the Song of the South full-length feature cartoon and on the Splash Mountain ride at Disneyland..
