The Technical College System of Georgia is accepting applications for the following full-time position with regular state benefits:
Budget Director, Office of Administrative Services
Salary Range: $80,000 to $100,000
Location: 1800 Century Place, Suite 550, Atlanta, Georgia
This position is open only to current employees of the State of Georgia who meet the minimum qualifications listed below.
Duties: The Budget Director manages and coordinates budget development and expenditure control activities. Through subordinate professional staff, the Budget Director is responsible for the submission of the department’s budget to OPB and the preparation of the annual operating budget (AOB) and is responsible for calculating the formula funding for the agency and the allocation of the formula to the 22 technical colleges. In conjunction with other senior staff members, helps prepare the data for the Commissioner’s budget presentation to the State Board, Governor and legislative body.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an undergraduate major in public or business administration, accounting, finance or a related field *and* Five years of cumulative experience in a professional capacity in general management, accounting, management analysis, or budgeting.
Preferred Qualifications: Applicant should have extensive experience in the following:
PeopleSoft Financials software in regards to budget, queries, reports; Experience working with the HRMS module of PeopleSoft; Experience with software that is used in budget development for the Office of Planning and Budget
Technical Competencies:
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products
Ability to understand financial management of federal and state grants
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to communicate effectively with subordinate staff and senior members of the technical colleges and their staff
Ability to make presentations to various groups pertaining to TCSG’s budget and other special projects that originate from the Budget Office
Ability to understand the use of bond funds and control the budgetary and expenditure activities of multiple fiscal years of bond funding for the 22 technical colleges
