History Lives In These Pages!

If you think of reading history as a dull exercise in memorizing dates and facts, you are in for a surprise. With George Washington’s Unsung Heroes, it is an adventure as exciting as any story in any book or on TV.

What makes this volume so special? For author Marc Stockwell-Moniz, these short stories—quick visits into the lives of real people—are not about a bunch of historical figures long dead. In fact, it’s his family history and these heroes live in his imagination and his heart. Look through the table of contents; you’ll see two heroes who have the name of Stockwell.

Marc’s enthusiasm for the time of the Revolutionary War, and his love for the country then—and now—makes these stories all the more fascinating. He instills the events with real-life drama and puts flesh and blood on the people he writes about. Just reading these stories you start to get a feeling for what it must have been like to have been alive at such a very important time in history.

Each of the 33 stories is short—just a few pages. They offer 33 glimpses into the soul of our country. Together, they provide a broader picture of the Revolutionary War, life at that time, and the people who lived back then.

George Washington’s Unsung Heroes will change the way you think about history and our nation’s beginnings. It will make you proud to be in a country with such a proud heritage that you can claim as your own.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Marc Stockwell-Moniz lives history, specifically the American Revolution. A literal Son of the American Revolution born in CambridgeMassachusetts where George Washington first took command of the fledgling army, Marc can trace his lineage back to English and French kings. His family has been in America since 1650, fully 126 years before the creation of the United States. For him, reading about history is not an academic subject; it’s his family album. When Marc writes about the Revolutionary War, he does not describe historical figures. He describes real people who are his family and friends. Marc

graduated from San DiegoStateUniversity in 1978 with a
