GeoSource has conducted environmental site assessments on undeveloped/raw land, commercial buildings, multifamily residential units, industrial facilities, recreational facilities, federal-assisted (HUD) projects and more.

Phase IThe scope of work involves a wide range of activities including site overview, site history and site inspection. Also included are geology and hydrogeology review, personnel interviews, hazardous substance identification and inventory, adjacent property examination, local government inquiries, regulatory review, as well as conclusions and recommendations.

Phase IIInvestigates concerns based on conclusions and recommendations cited in the Phase I site assessment. Typical activities include field work, subsurface investigations, sample collection and analysis, site geological review based on drilling activities, interpretation of overall field activities, and conclusions/recommendations.

Underground and Aboveground Product Storage Tank Investigations

GeoSource Environmental has on staff a Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank Corrective Action Project Manager(CAPM #00201) registered with the State of Texas pursuant to Title 30, TAC, Chapter 334, Subchapter J.

Capabilities Include:

  • Oversee UST removals - GeoSource Environmental can oversee removal and/or closure of underground product storage tanks to verify that no substantial amount of product has impacted the soil and groundwater and assure regulatory compliance. Will prepare tank closure reports.
  • Limited Site Assessments - Initial assessment to see if contamination exists at a site.
  • Plan A Risk Assessments - Assessment of a site where contamination of soil and/or groundwater exists. Risk Based Corrective Action Target levels used.
  • Additional Site Assessments - Additional site assessment performed in order to further delineate the extent and degree of subsurface contamination to the appropriate corrective action levels.
  • Plan B Risk Assessments - Evaluate the potential risks to human health and establish concentrations base on site specific factors. Considers the fate and transport of the contaminants in the soil, air and water and potential human exposure under current and future land use conditions.
  • Remediation - When a release from a product storage tank results in contaminant levels exceeding site cleanup goals, remediation technology must be selected. GeoSource Environmental has the capability to select the most cost effective and feasible technology for the site. GeoSource can help in th preparation of Corrective Action Plans (CAP) based upon the results of the Plan A and Plan B Risk Assessments.
  • Site Closure - GeoSource can prepare site closure plans/reports which include the procedures to shut down remediation systems, plugging of monitoring wells and confirmation sampling.

Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) sites - Assessments and Reporting under the Texas Risk Reduction Program which includes Affected Property Assessments and APAR’s, Response Actions,Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) and Innocent Owner/Operator Program (IOP)

Edwards Aquifer Recharge Zone Permitting - For UST/AST installation.

Water Pollution Abatement Plans (WPAP) - GeoSource Environmental can perform water pollution abatement plans which include geologic field mapping and reporting, using TCEQ and City of Austin formats.

Geologic Mapping - Have mapped extensively on Edwards Aquifer Recharge and Transition Zones as well as other areas in central Texas for development purposes.

Oil and Gas Assessments - GeoSource can perform assessments for tank batteries, compressor stations, pipelines and disposal pits on oil and gas sites for the determination of possible hydrocarbon and saltwater impact on the soil and groundwater as per Railroad Commission regulations.
