CIVITAS VANGUARD was co-organiser of the Clean Fuels, Clean Vehicles, Cleaner Cities conference held on 15-16 June in Donostia-San Sebastian. CIVITAS VANGUARD organised two sessions on clean vehicle procurement. This document gives an overview of links to relevant resources for participants of these sessions.

Overview: The Clean Vehicle Portal is a web-based tool provided by the European Commission to facilitate the implementation of the Clean Vehicle Directive in the European Member States. It provides reference data on vehicle life-cycle cost including the cost of environmental side effects in a manufacturer--neutral way (using internationally accepted vehicle test cycles). The portal aims at supporting all institutions procuring vehicles in the European Member States as well as legal entities and individuals who are interested in purchasing environmentally friendly vehicles. The basic functions of the Clean Vehicle Portal are available in all official EU languages as well as in Norwegian, Icelandic, and Croatian.

Overview: COMPRO (Common Procurement of Clean Collective and Public Service Transport Vehicles) aimed at contributing to the development of a common European market of clean vehicles, taking action on the demand side in order to homogenise the products technical requirements and creating a buyer consortium of local authorities to pool up together and reach the critical mass needed to ensure a swift market development.COMPRO analysed all key elements and conditions for a common procurement of clean collective and public service transport vehicles at European scale (i.e. CNG and hybrid buses).
