1.Call to Order by Mike Fortin

2.Approval of minutes from previous meeting

  • Motion by Justin Dufourto approve previous minutes. Seconded byChris Litt. Motion carried.

-Timmins Wrestling Club

After discussion, motion by Chris Litt to donate $500 to The Timmins Wrestling Club. Seconded by LeighAnn Workewich. Motion carried.

-Student Nutrition Program

After discussion, motion by Justin Dufour to donate $1,000 to Student Nutrition Program. Seconded by Chris Litt. Motion carried

-KidSport Timmins

Before the meeting, Luc Lamarche (who submitted the request on behalf of KidSport) requested that this request be deferred to the next meeting.

6.SEC Report

  • No Update

7.Treasurer’s Report

  • No update on balances. Treasurer Amy Chartier has resigned her position. The Executive has appointed Jennifer Vandal to act in her place as the position is currently within six months of the next election.

8.President’s Report

  • By-laws and Constitution –The package is almost done to be sent to the lawyer for review. It will be sent out to the lawyer for review and to obtain recommendations on our to get our by-laws and constitution on par with the rest of the province. Once recommendations are in place the lawyer will come up to explain the recommendations and then the Association will vote on the changes.
  • Discussion on PCAP. Sworn members are a part of it. Our “pay in” has not been paid yet as they are currently at a dues freeze due to the amount of money they currently have. There will be a meeting at the AGM to determine how we will be paying our “pay in”.
  • Discussion that we are speaking to a lawyer about the best way to deal with lawyers fees for people who are charged. We will be looking to see what the norms are across the province and what other services are doing.
  • Update on grievances:

Civilian Grievance –Susanne Colantonio being put into the Senior Officer’s Association – waiting on mediation.

  • David Starcevic Human Rights Tribunal Complaint – Mediation set for April 26th, 2017. Nini Jones will be here for the mediation.
  • Civilian Grievance – Association time – still ongoing. Gary has put in times for conciliation and will potentially be going ahead on June 6th and 7th.
  • Matt Beerman – PSA Hearing in June
  • Patrick Gervais – WSIB Claim was denied. Recommendation of the executive is that we will be providing financial assistance to fight it. After discussion it was determined that we would again use Beaudoin & Beaudoin from Cochrane. We will provide them with the package and they will review it and provide us with an opinion.

9.New Business

  • New Civilian Liaison Position – The Administration advised the Association of their intention and, as long as they are re-assigning Nick Osborne, Administion can create the new position.
  • Call for Nominees for Secretary – The matter was put on hold until the fall for re-election. Jennifer Vandal will continue to perform duties as the Secretary until the next election.
  • Incentive Draw – Winner Chris Litt $100

Motion made by Chris Littto adjourn the meeting. Seconded by LeighAnn Workewich. Motion carried and meeting adjourned.
