- January 2016 GeneralMeeting minutes stand as approved.
- Secretary’s Report – MichelleAsbell: correspondence from staff
- Treasurer’s Report – Shari Neal: March activity: read-a-thon funds, 5th grade camp funds, chess club & kiln purchase. Report was given to Jane. See attached report.
- Principal’s Report – Bethel Santos: update on school district retirements
- OLD BUSINESS
- Kiln Purchase Update – Jane: Order in process. Installation is coming soon.
- Newsletter Check-In – Jane: May & June (deadlines; April 22 & May 20)
- NEW BUSINESS
- Nominating Committee Report/Election– Mindy Dolan: All BOD positions filled with the exception of Treasurer. Motion #2: Mindy moved to approvethe 2016-17 PTA executive committee slate. Motion approved.
- 2016-2017 Budget Approval – Shari: see attached tentative budget for 2016-17. Change was made: Instead of Brain Pop it should be other academic assembly $875.Motion #1: Shari movedwe adopt the 2016-17 budget as presented. Motion approved.
- Fundraisers for Next Year– Jane: Shark-A-Thon chair Carol Macintosh. Smencils kids would buy for friends during Valentine’s Day. Holiday Shop.
- Megaphones- Jane: 2 more megaphones are needed for playground supervisors. Motion #3: Jane moved to bump up the campus safety from $30 to $100 for purchase of 2 megaphones. Motion approved.
- Open Floor- Focus Update in Olympia: Steven Rubenstein gave a report.Idea of incorporating a Grandparents Club: conversation starters to talk with their grandkids, can become members of PTA.
- COMMITTEE UPDATES
- Bingo Recap – Michelle Asbell
- Read-a-thon Update – Kristina DeLeo: 31% participation. Raised $6,677.59. More variety of prizes & ideas to increase participation for next year.
- Moms & Muffins – J.D. Chimni: Watch Dogs will help withparking.
- Staff Appreciation Update – Tila Woods: May 2-6. Monday: Coffee for Kinders 8:15-10:15am & breakfast pastries by 6th grade parents. Tuesday: Grant-A-Wish. Wednesday: International Lunch. Thursday: Card/Flower delivery. Friday: Chair massages. Grade Level gift baskets for teacher raffle.
- Grant-a-Wish – Amy Harris
- E-Prep – Jane: still pricing supplies for replacement
- EAP / Classic Books – Bonnie Plottner: April 18th Open House.
- 6th Grade Party Update – Gretchen Cloninger
- Membership – Jane: Chair needed for next year
- Chess Club Update– Jane: Chair needed for next year
- Community Serve Day – Sunday, August 21st9am-1pm: students moving to Jr. High can earn volunteer service hours for National Honors Society.
