GC Tissue Conditioner for Temporary Soft Relining Without Discoloration

GC Tissue Conditioner for Temporary Soft Relining Without Discoloration

Clean for longer, soft for longer: GC Tissue Conditioner with coating:

Instantly better relining: first all-in-one material that flexibly adapts to the mucosa

Fitting dentures, relieving pressure points, conditioning tissue and taking functional impressions: elastic relining materials have a diversity of jobs when it comes to improving the fit, retention and function of dentures. GC EUROPE is adding to its system of modern reliners a novel, patented all-in-one material with a special coating: GC Tissue Conditioner. Alongside the hard GC Reline as well as GC Reline Soft and GC Reline Extra Soft, this new product now provides dentists with an acrylic-based temporary relining material which stays soft, can be worked quickly, reliably and easily because of its chemical composition but also has a variety of uses – whether for temporary soft relining or tissue conditioning, for cases where (immediate) dentures are planned, after pre-prosthetic or implant surgery or even for long-term functional impressions.

The new powder/liquid system from the Dental Care Company is the first to combine a methacrylate monomer with dibutyl sebacate (DBS) as a plasticizer. The great advantage is that the salt of this sebacic acid, unlike the dibutyl phthalate (DBP) conventionally used, is not suspected of being harmful to the human endocrine system. The PVC plasticizer diethylhexyl phthalate, for example, has already been banned from baby products and toys for some time.

Prolonged elasticity – shortened working time

At the same time, when the multifunctional monomer in the liquid is mixed with the powder, a homogeneous, close-knit matrix is formed which prevents the DBS plasticizer and the alcohol from diffusing out of the material for a long time. As a result, the new relining material remains soft and elastic inside the mouth for up to four weeks and continually adapts flexibly to the mucosa in response to mucosal changes – for a consistently perfect denture fit without the problems of pressure points.

As a result of its new formulation patented by GC and its special physical properties, the GC Tissue Conditioner covers an extremely wide range of clinical indications: it is suitable for conditioning and relieving tissue (for example when there are areas of inflammation or pressure points on the inflamed alveolar ridge), but also for temporary soft relining of partial and complete dentures as well as functional impressions used to fabricate new dentures or restore existing ones, for immediate dentures and also as an interim solution for direct loading situations in implantology.

Direct help for pressure points: easy to apply and remove

Another impressive aspect of the relining material is that its working time and consistency are perfect for the dentist’s purposes. Finishing and polishing can be started just five minutes after application of the flowable material; it takes no more than 30 seconds to mix the material before the desired bubble-free consistency is achieved. Even when a minimal thickness of GC Tissue Conditioner is applied, it can easily be removed again; the material can simply be detached from the denture by hand – without the use of sharp instruments or tungsten-carbide burs.

Another advantage of the new chemical acrylic configuration is that, while achieving excellent aesthetics, the smooth, non-porous surface prevents any accumulation of plaque and micro-organisms (no unpleasant odour or unhygienic discolorations!) – regardless of how many layers of the material are applied. At the same time it promotes rapid tissue healing – especially important with implant work. If the newly developed coating, which is also part of the system, is applied beforehand, the strength of adhesion to the denture acrylic, the colour resistance and permanent elasticity of the GC Tissue Conditioner are greatly enhanced. The relining material is then removed with a tungsten-carbide bur.

The new GC Tissue Conditioner is now available in the colours Pink and White – in a 1:1 standard pack containing powder, liquid, coating and various accessories. Refill packs are also available.
