Critical Season of the Church
God's call is ringing out "The Kingdom of God is at hand"....will you be the carriers of His Kingdom into these last days?
I heard this message at a church in Omaha, NE (August 2012). It is such an anointed WORD FROM THE LORD that I had to share it! As you listen to Kerri DeVries(Glad Tidings Church, Omaha, NE) share what the Spirit of the Living God gave her for this season, let the Holy Spirit convict, encourage & challenge you.
We are in a critical season of the Church. Just as in Joshua 24, where Joshua is offering the Israelites the choice to serve God & His Kingdom or their own kingdoms, we are being offered that same choice.
"Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathersworshipedbeyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But for me and my house hold, we will serve the Lord," (Joshua 24:14-15).
And we see in Judges 2 the decision that was made by a generation~ "After that whole generation had been gathered to their fathers, another generation grew up, who knew neither the Lord nor what He had done for Israel...."(Judges 2:10).
We need to choose whether or not we accept the responsibility of carrying God's presence in our generation....
"From the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of Heaven has been forcefully advancing and forceful men lay hold of it,"Matthew 11:12.
Let us be the generation that will pursue God with their entire being, denying ourselves & throwing off all entangling sins to bring the Message of Salvation to the world!
In order to be carriers of His presence in this end time generation, we need:
1) REAL TRANSFORMATION~ This is encountering the Living God! If you do not have personal transformation, you will be crushed with what's coming.
Are you different since meeting the Living God?
2)REAL FEAR OF THE LORD~ A weight of the power of the Lord to live in obedience & submission to the Lord.
How does the fear of the Lord affect your thoughts, attitudes & actions?
3)REAL PERSEVERANCE~ When you don't feel God's presence, you persevere with a desire to finish well with God.
Even when you don't "feel like it", do you continue to be steadfast in your faith?
4)REAL POWER~ Study the book of Acts...see what the Holy Spirit is doing through the apostles. "The Kingdom of heaven is not a matter of talk, but a matter of power."
Are you experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit in your life?
5)REAL DEPENDENCE~ Depending totally on God. This is a knowing that you cannot do a thing without Him. God's Kingdom is not a kingdom of flesh, but of Spirit. We are so "independent" ~ that's our nature. We need a new nature to be utterly dependent upon God.
Am I under His rule & reign completely?
