FixYourStreet.ie Back Office Manager
The FYS BOM is a way to interact with FixYourStreet.ie using the FYS Extended API but without having to build a CRM integration.
Essentially FYSBOM is a frontend GUI to the Extended API.
Many Local Authorities indicated that they’d like to be able to interact with FYS without necessarily building a CRM integration - and so FYSBOM was created by SDCC.
To use FYSBOM you’ll need to have the public-facing ip of your organisation registered with FYS. You’ll also need a username and password to login.
Once these have been set up you can login and you’ll see the reports that pertain to your Local Authority area.
Here’s what the interface looks like:
You can filter report according to the 2 rows, category and status in the table at the top of the page.
For example, to see only open reports on illegal dumping for your area you’d click ‘Open’ in the top row then ‘Litter and Illegal Dumping’ in the second row.
To update any report click into it. You can change the status of reports and add comments to them.
There’s also a link at top right to ‘email this report’
The resulting email will contain all the report info including a link back to the report of FixYourStreet.ie.
Comments can also be managed through the FYS Back Office Manager by clicking on ‘User Comments’ at top left.
Clicking into any comment brings you into the relevant report for that comment where further comments can be added or deleted and the reports status updated.
In conclusion the FixYourStreet.ie Back Office Manager provides a means whereby any Local Authority can manage and update their FYS reports through a simple web interface.
The FixYourStreet.ie Back Office Manager does not require any local software installation or configuration on the part of 3rd party local authorities. All that’s required is that an ip reservation is set up with SDCC, username/password parameters sent on to SDCC and that this manual is read and understood.
