New funding for biodiversity research
Future Earth's Program for Early-stage Grants Advancing Sustainability Science (PEGASuS) has announced its first request for proposals – focusing on research on biodiversity and natural assets. A "Carbon Law" for cutting emissions
Inspired by Moore's Law in the computer industry, a new study in Science lays out a path for making the world carbon neutral by 2050. Researchers say that nations can limit the rise in global temperatures by following what they call a "Carbon Law"– cutting carbon dioxide emissions by half every 10 years. Read more...

Participants from around the U.S. gathered in Arizona and Colorado for two workshops that introduced the principles of transdisciplinary research – a research strategy that brings together diverse voices from science and society.
