FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR STICKER RALLY AND FAIR - A WEEKEND STUFFED WITH FUN, VINTAGE, MUSIC AND GAMES

Its full steam ahead for this year’s Sticker Fair and Vintage Rally as organisers have got all fired up to ensure loads of great activities, stalls, displays and entertainment for the whole family.

It kicks off on Friday night (August 1) with popular Cornish comedian Johnny Cowling in the main marquee from 7.30pm. Tickets for Johnny Cowling are £10 and are available from Sticker Post Office and Stores or call the Merlin MS Centre on 01726 885530. There will also be live music from Mr. Beat and a bar in the main marquee on Saturday night, which is a free event, and a weekend of day-time activities

The timeless beauty of steam engines and fairground organs will be rolling into the adjoining fields and grounds of Sticker AFC Grounds, alongside a huge display of vintage and classic vehicles plus tractor displays and parades on Saturday and Sunday.

Family entertainment includes fairground and inflatable rides, laser guns, a traditional sports day, archery, Fun Dog Show, Gun dog and dog agility displays; , and loads more.

There will be musical performances from Oll-An-Gwella Male Choir and Champagne Ladies Chorus on Saturday plus Rock Choir and Bugle Brass band on Sunday

In the main marquee there will be more than 20 craft stalls under cover, with a range of beautiful ceramics, woodwork, jewellery, and other crafts.

Visitors are encouraged to raid their attics and garages as their will be a “Fake or Fortune” valuation service from Richard Hamm ofBearnes Hampton and Littlewood in the charity marquee on Saturday as well as massage therapy; and the more traditional cakes, books, preserves, bric-a-brac as well as a tombola on both days

Be prepared to let your kids get covered in glue and paint as the Red Hand Gang will be running children’s craft activities in the Kids Marquee on the football field. And there will also be a huge outside area for trade stands. A BBQ will be sizzling throughout the two days as well as pasties, cream teas ice-creams, licensed bar, hot and cold drinks on sale. Car parking is free of charge.

Day time entry to the event is £10 for a family ticket; Adults £4; pensioners £3; over 10s £2 and under 10s free. Gates open on both days at 10am.

John Trethewey, one of the organisers, said:” This year we have pulled out all the stops to make sure there is something for everyone – the steam engines and vintage vehicles are always hugely popular for enthusiasts, but we know the kids need loads of entertainment, so we have packed the weekend full of treats for them too.”

All proceeds will be split equally between the Merlin MS Centre, Cornwall’s only MS therapy centre for people with Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological conditions: the Motor Neurone Disease Association and Sticker AFC.
