  1. Designed and manufactured right here in Australia.
/
  • Most others are manufactured and imported from America or Asia.

  1. Manufactured from high strength food grade 20% Talc filled Polypropylene, chemically and micro-biologically inert.
/
  • Manufactured from standard food grade Polypropylene which can crack or discolour over time and may leach contaminants.

  1. Filter housing withstands pressure in excess of 700 PSI.
/
  • Most imported housings burst at 300 PSI or less.

  1. Short and compact to fit in tight areas on the kitchen sink or bench (270mmH X 270mmW X 130mmD).
/
  • Taller units often more difficult to fit neatly on the sink area and sometimes quite unattractive.

  1. The Challenger IV Filtration System and components have been tested by independent laboratories recognised by either Standards Australia and NSF and it meets the requirements of AS/NZS 3497: 1998 Section 5 (Drinking water treatment units – plumbing requirements), AS4020 (Int) – 1994 (Products for use in contact with water intended for human consumption with regard to their effect on the quality of water), ANSI/NSF 61 – Drinking Water Treatment System Components Health Effects.
/
  • Most other brands either haven’t been tested or have failed.

  1. Sediment cartridge is shorter than the standard style cartridge however, has a 24mm thick wall section (standard is 18mm) which, when calculated, has more filtering material than a standard size cartridge. It is made from spun-bonded polypropylene and is a 3 micron depth cartridge.
/
  • Many other designs and styles of manufacturing include old technologies like melt-blown polypropylene, string wound polypropylene and pleated fibre, with poor structural integrity. Volume of filterable media within the cartridge may not be sufficient to protect the carbon cartridge or Reverse Osmosis Membrane.

  1. Carbon block filter cartridge successfully removes Cryptosporidium, Giardia and particulates down to 0.5 micron (lasts for 12 months), >99% chlorine removal for 15,000 litres. Carbon media meets the performance and material requirements of the National Sanitation Foundation standards 42, 53 and 58.
/
  • Only some filters will successfully remove Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and generally require 6 monthly replacement. Some still use older technologies like granular and paper impregnated carbon that has limited capabilities and micron ratings often higher than 1 micron.

  1. Unique Return Dual Diverter allows the system to be attached to a kitchen sink spout and the filtered water returns to the point-of-use.
/
  • Traditional style systems use a single flow diverter which then requires a spout to be mounted on the side of the filtration system housing. This forces the user to keep the housing next to the sink which can look unsightly and take up useful space.

  1. Can be disassembled entirely in less than 15 seconds, (no tools necessary). And is totally DISHWASHER SAFE!
/
  • Disassembly requires screwdrivers, spanners etc. and can take up to 5 minutes, and re-assembly can be done incorrectly if inexperienced.

  1. Filter cartridges can be fitted without guiding it with your hand i.e. cartridge centres itself normally by its tapered tip, whether being fitted upright, sideways or upside down.
/
  • Filter cartridges have flat o-ring endcaps at either end of the cartridge and if fitted off centre, can crush the side of the endcap and cause a by-pass of non-filtered water.

  1. Filter cartridges stay positioned into the head, allowing the filter housing to be unscrewed & filters to be visibly inspected without the risk of contamination by handling.
/
  • Filter cartridges must be removed from the system & handled to be inspected, increasing the risk of bacterial and microbial contamination from your hands.

  1. Super thick o-rings ensure long lasting positive-sealing and extended deformation.
/
  • Thin o-rings degrade very quickly and can get flat spots or kinks after as little as 12 months.

  1. Extremely easyto clean. There are no textured surfaces, tight grooves or ridges inside or out, giving an attractive slim-line look.
/
  • Ridges, grooves and textured interior and exterior surfaces are purely cosmetic (no performance or strength gain) which traps dirt, algae and bacteria.

  1. No metal brackets - No corrosion or rust occurring ever!
/
  • Metal bracket (generally painted) with securing screws, corroded over time and cause performance loss with structural integrity.

  1. Can be converted into any other Challenger series with simple, easy to attach conversion kits which require no modification to the existing unit.
/
  • Converting the system often requires different brackets, filter cartridges and disassembly of the system for conversion. Some even do not allow for conversion.

  1. Challenger Filter Cartridges seal into place from the top, causing no stress to the top or bottom of the filter housing.
/
  • Other filter cartridges are sealed at both ends, so when housing is over tightened, immense stress is placed on either end of the housing and eventually causing cracks.

  1. Internal/external joiner fittings clearly visible and exposed.
/
  • Internal connections/joiners are often hidden and difficult to access or replace. Also easy to damage or break.
