The National Pan-Hellenic Council of Cobb County (CNPHC)was chartered in 2013to serve Cobb County and its surrounding areas. The CNPHCpromotes community interaction through forums, meetings and other mediums for the exchange of information and engages in cooperative programming and initiatives through various activities and functions.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council understands its responsibility and obligation to make sure that the young men and women in our communities have the same opportunities to further their education and excel past the generation that came before them. The CNPHC shows its appreciation for the experiences bestowed on its members as college graduates by giving the same opportunities to the next generation. Thesecontributions aid deserving students in reaching their educational goals.

The CNPHCfor the first time is providing, three scholarshipsto three (3) deserving African-American students.

  • A Virtual Scholarship Center subscription from The Scholarship Academy(valued at $100) will be awarded to a junior student attending a high school in Cobb County or in the area West of Cobb.
  • A scholarship in the amount of $500 to be awarded to a senior attending high school in Cobb County or in the area West of Cobb.
  • A scholarship in the amount of $500 will be presented to a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university in the Metro Atlanta area.

The following criteria must be met by the applicants:

  • For each award respectively, the applicant must either bea high school junior, senior or a current student at a college or university.
  • Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Applicants must have demonstrated leadership ability in the school and community.
  • Applicants must have participated in community service projects.
  • Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.

All applications and supporting documents should be mailed to the address included on the application and must be postmarked by Thursday,March 31, 2016. Applicants may opt to scan and send one (1) complete email including completed application, essay, and recommendation letters to the scholarship committee at (partial submissions will not be accepted) by the March 31stdeadline. Official sealed transcripts must be mailed and postmarked by the March 31stdeadline. In order to be considered for a scholarship, the following items must be included with the application:

  • Completed Scholarship Application
  • Official sealed (High School/College) transcript including grades for the current year
  • 500-word essay, double-spaced and typed
  • Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, employer or volunteer organization on official letterhead (typed & signed)
