WAMA WINTER BALL 2012
Dear WAMA Colleague
The time is fast approaching for the premier event on the WAMA calendar, the WAMA Winter Ball! The Dean and Executive Committee invite you and your spouse, and any guests that you wish to bring, to attend what will be an enjoyable evening of food, drinks, dancing, and socializing. The Ball will be on Friday 7th December and, as is customary, several distinguished US Army officials have been invited as our guests.
The Ball depends on a high turnout from the membership and your Committee is very much looking forward to seeing you there. The more members that attend, and the more guests they bring with them, the better the atmosphere and the greater the success. We urge you to make every effort to attend. The following pages have additional information, including menu choices, and the reply form. Please complete and return the form (along with your cheque, payable to WAMA) no later than Tuesday 20th November - this will help your Committee with its planning.

WAMA WINTER BALL 2012 DETAILS
Where: Westin Washington, DC City Hotel
1400 M Street, NW; Washington, DC
When: Friday 7th December
Timings: 1900 - 1945 - Reception and pre Dinner Drinks
1945 - Move to Dinner
2000 – Midnight - Dinner, music and dancing to a live band
Dress: Mess Uniform, or national equivalent/ Civilian Formal.
Cost: As we discussed and agreed at the Annual General Meeting we have had to
raise the price of the Ball tickets this year; however to encourage wider attendance the guest tickets are now much cheaper. The costs will be as follows:
$ 85 per person - WAMA members and spouse
$100 per person - Personal guests (non WAMA)
Parking: The hotel offers valet parking for $19.00 for the evening, $43.00 overnight.
Hotel Rooms: We have also negotiated a special room rate of $109.00 plus taxes for those who wish to stay the night. Should you wish to take up the offer please deal direct with the hotel
on 202 429 1700 (and ask for a sales rep) and claim the “WAMA Winter Ball” . The rate
is only available until 15 November.
