SUBJECT: HHC 2nd Year Cadet Training

DATE: 3 SEPT 2017

Greetings,

I am C/SFC Baker and I will be your training NCO for the Second Year Training Program for HHC. Tuesday, September 5th, we will be meeting for our first lesson during TAT (1300 promptly) in Cabot 085. Each lesson will take no longer than 45 minutes. This class is quintessential to earn points on your OML for future leadership positions on the hill and upon full completion of this program you will receive the Second Year Training Ribbon. Myself and C/MAJ Heath have reconstructed this entire program from scratch and built it so that you, the student, not only will learn about leadership but can also apply what you have learned in real world settings for your future careers (whether civilian or military). We have each lesson slated for almost every TAT session this semester and I will update you with locations, lesson plans and if we plan on meeting that week.

If you miss a lesson we will direct you to our blogsite with make-up assignments for that week as well as the materials you missed. It will consist of reading and analyzing the materials that we presented during the actual raining session along with a short quiz to follow. We will also post the materials after each lesson to our blogsite for your convenience so that you have what you need to add to your notes from the sessions in Cabot 085 following each training.

At the end of the program we will have the opportunity for last chance make-ups of lessons as well as a final examination to culminate everything that you have learned throughout our program. Bear in mind, we DO NOT want to add unwanted stress to your already busy academic semester, with things likes sports, ROTC, Corps positions, just to name a few, etc. This program is designed to present each of you with quality information with minimal hassle or frustration on your end.

We understand that there is a stigma attached to the Second Year Training program that you may have heard from other cadets on the hill, but as previously stated, we have taken a lot of time, energy, and passion to try our hardest to change the program into something enjoyable and minimally stressful on the you’re all’s end. As one of your teachers for this program it is my responsibility to help you make the most out of this program and make the process as smooth as possible. We, the teachers, are very excited to start this program with all of you and we hope that you share our enthusiasm once you start the class.

If you have any questions about this program, or if you are not in HHC, or anything else please do not hesitate to contact me via email ( ), my cell phone number is (845-200-9047), or stop by my room or leave me a note in my IN Box on my door (Wilson Hall 212).

Respectfully,

C/SFC Baker
