  1. READING

Read the text. Then complete the sentences.

Last Saturday, Mindy and I went shopping. Her mum drove us into town in the car and she gave us money so we could catch the bus back home again. We both wanted to buy some new jeans. I wanted blue ones because blue’s my favourite colour and Mindy wanted black ones. She wears a lot of black clothes.
We went to a lot of clothes shops in Hill Street, (that’s where the best ones are) but we couldn’t find what we wanted. Then we went to Jeans and Things in Orchard Road. The jeans I tried on there didn’t look good. In fact, I looked very strange in them. The ones Mindy tried on were all too big. Then we went to Jeans R You – that’s in Rose Road. They had lots of pairs of jeans there.
Mindy tried on some black ones and they looked great. She bought them. Then she tried on some blue ones. She doesn’t like blue usually, but she bought those, too. I tried on some blue ones and they looked good, too. But they were very expensive*. So I tried on some black ones a bit like the ones Mindy had. They were perfect, so I bought them. So in the end, I had black jeans and Mindy had blue ones and black ones.
Then we decided* we wanted new T-shirts to go with our jeans. We didn’t find any nice ones in T-shirts and Tops, in Green Street, but then we went to Top T-shirts. It’s a new shop at the end of Grange Hill. And that was where we both found ones we liked. Mindy got one with flowers* on it and I got one with a cat on it. Then, because we were tired after all the shopping, we went to a café for a drink. We sat there for so long that we missed the three o’clock bus and had to wait until the next one, an hour later.
