Initial result indicates that a previously identified limitation in the tested VDL Mode 4 radios has been fully eliminated. A complete report will be delivered to ACP during the fall of 2005.

2.  VDL mode 4 radio measurements

2.1  A measurement campaign is ongoing in support of developing frequency-planning criteria for VDL Mode 4. The test procedures applied are the ones defined by ACP in “Frequency testing of VDL Mode 4 for the development of frequency planning criteria”, October 2004, Version 1.4.

2.2  The Dutch company Telefication bv (Edisonstraat 12a, 6902 PK Zevenaar, The Netherlands) was engaged for doing the measurements to ensure the highest level of objectivity. Telefication is one of the leading suppliers of worldwide radio and telecom approvals and the company is designated as a Notified Body (NB) in Europe and it is an accredited radio equipment certification body in many parts of the world including USA, Canada, Japan, Australia and New Zealand..

2.3  The test activity has taken place in the Scandinavian Airline System (SAS) department for maintenance of radio equipment (CPHTP-A, SAS component) at Amager Strandvej 392, DK-2770 Kastrup, Denmark.
