Looking Ahead to Catholic Schools Week Jan. 28-Feb. 3

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. It starts the last Sunday in January and runs all week, which in 2018 is January 28 - February 3. The theme for the National Catholic Schools Week 2018 is “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” Next week we’ll be sharing the events for our celebration at Guardian Catholic. In the meantime, here are some tasks for planning in advance:

Send donations of canned tuna for CSW food drive from now through Feb. 2. Your donations will be given to Catholic Charities. Let’s come together to serve our community!

Invite friends and family to our CSW Open House Jan. 31, 9AM to 1PM.Families who refer a new family who successfully enrolls next year will receive a $100 credit for next year’s school fees. Share your positive experiences at Guardian Catholic with others and invite them to join us.

Prepare to reenroll your children for 2018-19 during Catholic Schools Week. Reenrollment will be done through the Parent Portal starting Jan. 29. Have you created your RenWeb Parent Portal Account? If not, create one ASAP so that you’re ready to reenroll. To do this:

*Log onto school website

*On left side of screen click on ParentsWeb icon.

*Click on Create New ParentsWeb Account (do not do this if you already have an account)

Help Collect Box Tops for Education!

Look for the Box Tops logo on hundreds of products. Clip and send them to school in a bag or envelope marked with your child’s name and grade— each label is worth 10¢.

Renew Step Up for Students for 2018-2019 Today!

Renewal families had a processing priority untilDecember 31, 2017. However, if you missed that deadline, renew your scholarships right away. New families will apply soon, narrowing your possibilities of a quick renewal. Renewal families who have a child currently in PK4, be sure to add that child to your renewal as an add-on sibling for kindergarten. Parents of eighth graders be sure to renew for high school.

Income Determination Form for Private Schools

Return the Income Determination Form that was sent home last week if you haven’t done that yet. Our school and your children benefit from funding for student services. You can help us receive that funding by completing theIncome Determination Form and returning it to school by this Friday. Our goal is a 100% return rate!

School Day 8:00 a.m. to 2:55 p.m.

Parents are reminded that students must attend a full day of school. Our day begins at 8:00 a.m. and dismissal is at 2:55 p.m. It is important that parents make a full day of attendance a priority. Leaving school early is an exception and should be considered only for a doctor’s appointment or an emergency.

Lost and Found – take time to put your child’s name on all uniforms & belongings.

All lost items will be available in the office until the 30th of each month. Unclaimed items will be given to Goodwill.
