Conference focus

  1. Current situation in foreign language education in the world, Europe, and the Slovak and Czech republics
  2. First feedback on the New Conception of the foreign language education in elementary and secondary schools
  3. Pedagogical, psychological, social, and cultural factors in foreign language education
  4. Psychological, pedagogical, and didactical aspects of personality development through foreign language learning
  5. Integrated approaches to foreign language teaching/learning (CLIL aCALL)
  6. Current issues in foreign language teachers’ professional training

Workshops

  1. Integrated approaches to foreign language teaching/learning (CLIL aCALL)
  2. Development of intercultural competencies within the foreign language education

Conference venue: Dept. of Language Pedagogy and Intercultural Studies (KLIŠ), PF UKF
Nitra, Dražovská 4, 2ndfl.

Conference languages: Slovak, Czech, English, German

Conference output:a monograph, a thematicissue of the on-line scientific journal X-linguae.eu, andpier-reviewed conference proceedings on a CD-ROM. The proceedings will be given to attendees on the first day of the conference, hence keeping the deadlines is necessary.

Payment of conference fees (transfer): 15 May 2009

Registration fee: 4 EURO (refreshments, materials, proceedings, certificate).

Conference fee: 25 EUR (refreshments, materials, proceedings, publication of the paper).

Lunch upon request (menu): 4 EURO.

Note: travel and accommodation expenses are not included in the fee. Accommodation close to the conference venue can be booked upon request.

Detailed programme shall be available one week before the actual conference day on the department web page.

The participants will be presented by the official conference and workshop certificate. Other confirmation or acknowledgements forms brought by the participant can be confirmed on the registration.

Important notes

  • Registration form and papers should be sent to the contact address.
  • Only the papers sent as an attachment of an e-mail will be accepted. Papers should be written into the template – please do keep its formatting.
  • Name all the files (registration, paper) by your surname. (Save the files as Surname.doc)
  • Papers not keeping these requirements (template, formatting, citation and resources according to the APA style or ISO 690 norm) will not be accepted.
  • If the reviewer finds it necessary, the paper may be sent back to the author for revision.
  • Late submissions will not be accepted.
