Behavior Policy:

  • Every student is expected to try their best both in and out of the classroom. A huge emphasis is placed on taking responsibility for one’s own actions and facing the consequences that may result.
  • Disruptive students may have (but not limited to) the following consequences depending on the severity of the behavior:

-Flip their behavior card

-Citation issued/loss of recess

-sent to the office / see Mrs. Scroggins

Homework Policy:

  • Homework is given almost every night. It should last about 40 minutes. Plus at least 30 minutes of reading time.
  • Homework is written on the board everyday. It is the student’s responsibility to write it down in their organizer. (I go over the assignments daily and give time in class for the students to do this.)
  • This year, because of rotating classes, students have multiple teachers and are required to follow their homework policies as well.
  • If for some reason, the student needs an extended time to complete any assignment, I need a written note from the parent/guardian with a valid reason to be given an extension. (A note from the parent/guardian does not necessarily excuse the student from study hall during lunch recess.)
  • If the student is absent, it is his or her responsibility to check with me about what he/she missed. The student has exactly how many days they were absent to complete and turn in the assignment. (i.e. Johnny was absent for 2 days, he has 2 days to complete and turn in the missed assignments for credit.)

This process takes about a week, so fill out the paperwork ahead of time!
