  1. Atlanta Beltline Field Trip
/ At our last meeting, Mr. Burke and Ms. Reynolds agreed to represent Benteen on the tour set for November 28. However, the tour was postponed until December 19, 20, 2016. / Dr. Lovett and Ms. Sanchez agreed to represent Benteen at the tour on December 19th. Mr. Burke will participate in the December 20th tour. Dr. Lovett registered all three of the participants on the link provided.

  1. GO Team Resignations or Removals
/ Two of our members have yet to respond to emails sent or attend one of our GO Team meetings. None of the emails sent to them have been returned. Mr. Nichols made a motion to remove and replace these two candidates. Motion was properly seconded by Mr. Burke.
  1. GO Team Update Training
/ After polling those present, it was decided we all didn’t need the training because we were up to date.

  1. CCRPI (College and Career Readiness Performance Index
/ Dr. Lovett provided an update on Benteen’s performance this year and two years prior. In 2014 – 48%, 2015 – 65.5%, and 2016 – 56.9%. We took a slight deep, and APS took a slight deep across the board. The state us changing the formula; and the law is changing the number of test students are required to take. Fourth grade will not have to be tested anymore. Benteen is no longer on the OSD list that is published once a year. For more information you can search for Benteen’s CCRPI online.
Dr. Lovett also mentioned that Benteen is experiencing an enrollment bubble. For the first time in 10 years, Benteen’s enrollment is over 300 students. The current enrollment is 325 students.

  1. Benteen/Thomasville 5K Community Educational Run/Walk
/ Took place Saturday, December 10, 2016. The start and finish line was at Benteen. The AFSCME sponsored the event. Funds raised was over $20,000, which will be split between Benteen and Thomasville
  1. Passion City Church
/ Dr. Lovett and a few of the FWBES staff members worshipped with the Passion City Church congregation on Sunday, December 11, 2016. This a way to say thank you to Passion City for all that they have done for us.
  1. ER Learning
/ Holding their regional meeting at Benteen on tomorrow, Tuesday, December 13, 2016. They will also do a learning walk to observe our third and fourth grade classrooms.
  1. PTA Meeting / Holiday Program
/ Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 5:00p.m. Students are to report to their teachers at 4:30 p.m.
  1. Staff Holiday Celebration
/ Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
  1. Mrs. Claus Visit
/ Reading to PreK through first grade

/ Friday, December 16, 2016, Class Holiday parties from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., and Perfect Attendance party at 2:00 p.m.
