Principal’s Message

Student Arrival - Just a reminder that the building is not open to students until 8:00 am. Students may not arrive on campus before 7:50 am. If a student arrives at 7:50 am, they must wait outside until the 8:00 am bell to enter the building.

Dismissal in the Lobby Area - We ask that parents and other individuals, who pick up students in the afternoon, use the front entrance to enter and exit the building to pick up children. We must keep the walk way open for students to safely move to their designated areas for dismissal. Please make an effort to remain out of the walkway to assist with a safe dismissal.

Carpool Concerns - It is essential for the safety of our students, parents and staff that everyone follows our carpool processes and procedures. Please enter the carpool lane and proceed to the right, around the circle, by the entrance to the carpool loading and unloading area. When exiting the carpool lane, ALL traffic must exit to the right. Traffic backs up when parents try to exit to the left and this slows our carpool process.

DO YOU LOVE BOOKS??

Then boy, do I have a great volunteer opportunity for you! Our Lacy Leveled Book Room is undergoing a much needed revamp. (It's been 10+ years since the last one!) We have hundreds of books that are organized into sets that teachers can use in their guided reading groups. During the summer, many of our teachers came in to help build a new database for the books that are housed in this room. All of the books were removed from their old, yellowing, and frankly quite disgusting cardboard boxes, and the room was cleaned from top to bottom. The sets of books were placed in zip lock bags and stored in plastic bins with a new check out system put into place.

Unfortunately, the summer ended before our work was completed. We still have many books that need to be sorted and bagged. If you would like to spend a quiet hour or two helping to organize the books in the Leveled Book Room, please contactNancy Proctor (). The Leveled Book Roomis next door to the copy room near the office. Feel free to peek in and see how nice it looks! And please consider helping us to complete this project! Thank you!

Thank You Merry Moms!

The Kindergarten team would like to thank Jennifer Lambert, Olivia Edwards, and all the Merry Moms for volunteering their time to help with our Kindergarten staggered entry. This time can be a very stressful for teachers, children and parents, but with your help things went very smoothly. Administering the Kindergarten Initial Assessment would be impossible without your help to supervise, care for and play with the children.

At Lacy, we are fortunate to have such marvelous support from our parents and we would like to let you know that it is greatly appreciated. We hope that you will consider volunteering again next year! With Warm Regards, The K Team
