Tuesday, November 8th is Election Day. Because Lacy is a polling site, there will be a 2 hour delay that morning. Students should not arrive on campus before 10:00. Students arriving after 10:30 will be tardy.
Friday, November 11th is Veterans Day. No school for students or staff.
Principal's Message
During morning and afternoon carpool, please remember to take a right turn out of the carpool lane. The traffic on Lake Boone Trail is too busy to safely exit to the left. It also holds up traffic for everyone when you wait to turn left. We appreciate your support and cooperation with this issue.
Election Day
We anticipate a high volume of voter traffic throughout the day. Please plan for extra traffic and delays that day for morning and afternoon carpool. We will have extra staff available to help with the congestion. We also ask that you limit your visits on voting day, due to the extra activity we will have on campus throughout the day. We appreciate your assistance and support.

Veteran's Day Performance
The Lacy 5th grade classes will be presenting a concert on November 10, 2016 at 8:45 a.m. in the gym. We would like to invite parents, grandparents, and any Veterans from our Lacy families to attend this tribute. We hope to see you there.
Pieces of Gold
We are still waiting for news of the audition date and time. We are now about a month away and need to remind everyone to be prompt for rehearsals on Tuesday mornings so we can make the best use of practice time and be prepared for the auditions. A note will be sent home in Wednesday folders as soon as I have any further information.
Chess Training on Monday mornings starting November 7th
The Lacy Chess Club will begin chess training sessions at 7:30 a.m. Monday mornings in the Media Center starting Monday November 7thand will run through the 2017 NC K-12 Chess Championships on March 11th– 12th. Parents of interested players should join the Lacy Chess Club hub on MemberHub to get announcements, including notices of the occasional cancelation. Any player that already knows the rules of chess and has played a complete game of chess is welcome. The sessions will be non-competitive training based mostly on hands-on exercises with some lecture and discussion. This format should provide more of the Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related benefits of chess compared to the Wednesday morning play sessions, which will continue. A primary motivation is to prepare Lacy players for the 2017 state championships that will be returning to the Raleigh Convention Center, but any Lacy player will benefit from the training.
