Special Karaoke Night on Saturday 16th May to take place in the Punch Bowl, Ballyheane at 9pm. Ciara Concannon, daughter of Kathleen Vahey, a native of Ballyheane, is heading out to Calcutta to volunteer for three weeks of the summer with the Hope Foundation and is in great need of our support. Ciara is hosting a very special karaoke night for the street children of Calcutta. Free admission with a night of great food, music and raffle prizes guaranteed!!! BALLYOVEY PARISH COUNCIL MEETING

A meeting of the Parish Council will take place on Tuesday, 12th May, at 8.30p.m. in the Parish House, Partry.

Partry Athletic held their Lotto draw for April in The Village Inn, Partry. Numbers drawn were 42, 7 & 34. The lucky winners were Sean Bourke, Donal Bourke, and Andy and Fiona Kennedy.

The Hub Knock- (VAKS) We are inviting YOU to be part of Knock Shrine and volunteer for one or more weekends throughout the summer. Over the weekend you will meet new people, welcome pilgrims and help the people who visit Knock. The volunteer @ Knock Shrine programme is for all people over 16 years old. It is an opportunity for you to serve the pilgrims at Knock Shrine. Over 1.4 million people visit Knock Shrine every year from home and abroad. It is a special place of prayer and pilgrimage.

You will need to attend training days at Knock before you can volunteer, training includes the following; Communication skills, Manual Handling, Basic First Aid, Child Protection, Youth Ministry, Team Building, Prayer & Reflection, Liturgy & Spirituality of Knock Shrine & The story of Knock. Litter Action League 2015 The Litter Action League competition has begun for this year and runs from April to September. The following is the areas in question-from the speed limit at Coláiste Muire to the Health Centre, from O’Toole's to the speed limit on the Gortfree Rd and from Tourmakeady Woods via Church Road to the Grotto. Judging takes place unannounced each month and a written report is given after each inspection. Tourmakeady are in Group B of the competition and they are drawn against Ballindine for the month of April. We are asking for your help to keep the area free from litter, and keep Tourmakeady tidy. Pentecost weekend, Adoration - 33 hours is in Tuam: beginning after 10 a.m. Mass in the Cathedral on Saturday 23rd and ending on Sunday 24th with Mass at 7 p.m. The Adoration itself will be in St. Jarlath's chapel for which we are deeply grateful to all in the college. Everyone in the Archdiocese is welcome: our solidarity is precious. If your parishioners are not assigned a particular hour on the timetable, they are kindly invited to take any hour they like and, of course, anyone who would like to come is welcome.
