Four States Bandmasters Association

The 2016 Four States Bandmasters Association Convention is upon us once again. We are very excited about the clinics and clinicians that we have on line already.
The three bands will be rehearsing Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Deadline for applications: November18, 2016. The selections will be made from your ranked applications with the intent of selecting the highest caliber players made available to us through your entry forms. Only nominate students in grades 10-12. Ninth graders will not be considered. We will post the information on the website as soon as the selections are made. Students will audition for chair placement on Thursday, January 12th with a rehearsal to follow the announcement of audition results. The student registration fee is the same as last year- $25.00 per student, which will need to be paid after selections have been made, and before auditions. Do not send student fees until we have chosen the members of the bands through your nominations. Directors must attend the convention in order for students to participate. The final concerts will be at the Texas High School Sullivan Performing Arts Center on Saturday, January 14th beginning at 2:00 p.m. Each student will receive an embroidered Honor Band patch at the final concert. Texas High School will be our host for the exhibits, clinics and rehearsals.
Included with this email are: director registration forms, concert band nomination form, jazz band nomination form, FSBA Hall of Fame guidelines and nomination forms. Please note the deadlines for everything….nominations are due November 18th and Hall of Fame nominations are due Dec. 1.
We will be using the Holiday Inn Express as our “Official Convention Hotel”. The Hampton Inn right next door will handle overflow. These properties are located next to the mall and 1 block from Texas High. Info will be on the web site.
