Introduction
Foundation in Accounting is a course offered by Sagittarius and is aimed at candidates who wish to acquire fundamental knowledge in the fields of Financial and Management accounting. The course includes such elements as;
- Types of business transactions and documentation
- Journals and ledger accounts
- The principles and process of basic bookkeeping
- Record transactions and events
- Banking system and transactions
Sagittarius has planned the course is such a way that besides accommodating candidates who have little background in Accounting, it also suits candidates who have never studied any area of Finance and therefore this course is particularly suitable for people who;
- are self employed
- are qualified in a non-accounting field but wish to gain a sound understanding of accountancy
- managers with non-accounting functions
From an academic perspective this course is so designed that it is also suitable to students;
- who are planning to study for the ACCA level 4, but have no accounting background
- who are studying for Diploma level 2 and Diploma level 3 of the ACCA.
- Who have not studied Accounting but are studying for such courses as Business Management, Marketing, Banking or Insurance
