Timeline at a Glance 2017-2018

  • Induction/New Educator Orientation

August 14-31, 2017 /
  • Induction/New Educator School Orientation

October 4, 2017 /
  • Educators not attending the New Educator Orientation Day will receive Formative Evaluation Orientation no later thanOctober 4, 2017.Educators hired on or after October 9, 2017 will be placed on Letters of Agreement and will receive formative evaluation during the next school term.

Initial/Preliminary Notifications
September 6, 2017 /
  • Teacher will be informed of his/her assistance team members.

Initial/Preliminary Formative Evaluation (Student Learning Objective-SLO)
No later than August 30, 2017 / Task
Induction Contract Educator submits classroom schedule to Induction & Mentoring Coordinator electronically
First semester / Walk-Through Observations
  • Assistance Team Chair will complete walk through observations
  • Assistance Team Chair will provide oral and written feedback on observation within five (5) days of receiving reflection.(Walk-through observations can take place at any time to offer support to new educators.)

September 28-December 1, 2017 / Integral Observations
  • Mentor will complete integral observation
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit responses to Reflection Questions on Classroom Observations (TT3) to Mentor within seven (7) days of each observation
  • Mentor will conduct oral and written feedback conference on observation and reflection within five (5) days of receiving reflection.

September6, 2017 / Induction Meeting(Long Range Plans with Mentors)
On or before
September 28, 2017 / SLO Form A
  • Induction Contract Educator will complete SLO Form A, Sections I, II, V, X and submit to mentor for review and feedback.
  • Mentors will conference with induction contract educator to provide formative feedback on SLO Form A, Sections I, II, V, X.
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit SLO Form A, Sections I, II, V, Xto assistance team chair on or before September 28, 2017.

On or before October 16, 2017 / Beginning of Year Conferences
  • School Administrator will conduct beginning of year conferences to provide formative feedback and review Student Learning Objectives (SLO) Form A, Sections I, II, V, X.

October 4, 2017 / Induction Meeting (Expectations led by Lead Mentors)
October 5 – November 3, 2017 / Veteran Educator Observations
  • Induction Contract Educator will conduct three observations of approved veteran educator and complete observation form for each observation.

November 1, 2017 / Induction Meeting (Panel Discussion and Classroom Management led by Mentors)
On or before
November 10, 2017 / Unit Work Sample (TT2)
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Unit Work Sample to mentor for review and feedback.
  • Mentor will conference with induction contract educator to provide formative feedback on Unit Work Sample.
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Unit Work Sample to assistance team chair on or before November 10, 2017.

On or before November 10, 2017 / Professional Performance Review (ET2)
Assistance Team Chair will complete Professional Performance Review (ET2).
On or before November 10, 2017 / Professional Self-Assessment (TT4)
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Professional Self-Assessment (TT4)to mentor for review and feedback.
  • Mentor will conference with induction contract educator to provide formative feedback on Professional Self-Assessment.
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Professional Self-Assessment (TT4)to assistance team chair on or before November 10, 2017.

On or before December 7, 2017 / Middle of Year Conferences
• School Administrator will conduct middle of year conferences to review and provide formative feedback Student Learning Objectives (SLO) Form A.
December 11, 2017 / Document Verification Meeting
  • Assistance team chair holds consensus meeting with mentor to review initial/preliminaryET3 Evaluation Summary.

December 12, 2017 / Provide a copy of the consensus-based preliminary Evaluation Summary (ET3) to the induction contract educator.
December 13, 2017 / Provide a copy of initial/preliminary cycle (ET3) information for Induction Contract Educators must be delivered to Human Resources by 5:00 P.M.
Second/Final Formative Evaluation (Student Learning Objective-SLO)
January 3, 2018 / Induction Meeting (with ICARE Rep)at locations
January 9, 2018-February 27, 2018 / Mentor Integral Observation
  • Mentor will complete an integral observation.
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Reflection Questions on Classroom Observations(TT3) to mentor within seven (7) days of each observation
  • Mentor will provide oral and written feedback regarding observation and reflection to induction contract educator to prepare for assistance team chair and/or school administrator final integral observation(s) within five (5) days of receiving reflection.

On or before
January 11, 2018 / SLO Form A (Revised LRP portions due) (if required)
  • If required, Induction Contract Educator will submit revised SLO Form A (Long Range Plan)to mentor for review and feedback.
  • Mentors will conference with induction contract educator to provide formative feedback on the revised portions SLO Form A.
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit revised SLO Form Ato assistance team chair on or before January 11, 2018.

January 9, 2018-February 27, 2018 / Assistance Team/Administrator Integral Observations
  • Assistance Team Chair will complete integral observations
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Reflection Questions on Classroom Observations(TT3) to mentor within seven (7) days of each observation
Assistance Team Chair does not hold feedback conferences for the integral observation.
February 7, 2018 / Induction Meeting (Mentor & Induction Collaborative Meeting-Discussion and Brainstorming)
On or before
February 12, 2018 / Revised Unit Work Sample (TT2) and/or Revised Professional Self-Assessment (TT4)
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Revised Unit Work Sample (TT2) and/or Revised Professional Self-Assessment (TT4) to mentor for review and feedback.
  • Mentor will conference with induction contract educator to provide formative feedback on Revised Unit Work Sample (TT2) and/or Revised Professional Self-Assessment (TT4).
  • Induction Contract Educator will submit Revised Unit Work Sample (TT2) and/or Revised Professional Self-Assessment (TT4)to assistance team chair on or before February 12, 2018.

On or before February 12, 2018 / Professional Performance Review (ET2)
Assistance Team Chair will complete Professional Performance Review (ET2).
March 7, 2018 / Induction Meeting (Professional Growth and Development Plans)
March 27, 2018 / Document Verification Meeting
  • Assistance team chair holds consensus meeting with mentor to review initial/preliminaryET3 Evaluation Summary.

March 28, 2018 / Second/Final Conference
  • Second/final conference held with induction educator.(Provide a copy of the consensus-based final Evaluation Summary (ET3) to the induction contract educator.)

March 29, 2018 / All original second/final cycle documentation for Induction Contract Educators must be delivered to Human Resources by 5:00 P.M.
April 19, 2018 / First Year Teacher of the Year Reception
May 2, 2018 / Induction Meeting (Q & A / Next Steps)
May 18, 2018 / End of Year Conferences
  • School Administrator will conduct end of year conferences to review/discuss Student Learning Objectives (SLO)
